Using a native window manager, as opposed to an FTP client, seems like a
much better way to handle this file exchange problem. However, my
Ximian/Gnome Nautilus/Sawmill manager is much too slow over a local 100
Mbs ethernet for this approach to be usable. Nautilus just sits there
for minutes with a partially filled file directory window while trying
to open the remote directory. Disappointing...:( I'd love to know how to
get this method working between locally networked G3's.
