The old Maxpower cards work fine in a 7100/66, mine was a 266Mhz card,
as long as the Maxpower init, which switches to the new processor, runs
before the booter - either the MkLinux booter or bootx (boot fully into
the system then start). The only real problem I had was the lack of the
ability to use the AV card. Note that setting up on one of these is NOT
a plugnplay operation you have to be prepared to do a lot of playing
around with installation on a "modern" machine etc. (and have a backup
MkLinux partion to fall back on since booting the new kernel seems to
make the partition unbootable by mklinux even after you "undo" all the
new stuff :-) YMMV however.
