this is configurable. In my setup at least the file ~/.vnc/xstartup
runs when vncserver starts.
If you were to put "exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc" in there you'd have
what ever
window manager and session manager you normally get. twm is good when
the connection
is not very speedy.
