Following up on my thread about problems with the ATI Mach 64 card:
Since the card isn't really going to cut it for me anyway (I would
really like 1024x768x24bpp at a minimum, for graphics work), can I use
any PCI video card from the Wintel world that is supported by Linux, or
am I still limited to Mac-specific cards? (This is for Linux use only.)

Either way, can anyone recommend some inexpensive cards that would do
the trick? I tried an ATI Rage Pro before (two of them, in fact) and
the picture was just awful. I ended up going with a Formac Proformance
3 in that particular case, but it weren't cheap and it appears to be
discontinued anyway. (Must have been a couple of years ago now.) If
there are some being sold off cheap, though, please let me know.

If this is off-topic, please reply privately. Thanks in advance!
