Thanks for pointing me to your website. Apparently I am missing something
obvious.

I have followed the steps you outlined to an extent, but have deviated in
one area. Perhaps you could shed some light on this.
I had previously gone through setting up my hard disk with the following
partitions.

hd8 : mac hfs 6 gig
hd9: aux 128 mb /swap
hd10: aux 60 mb /var
hd11: aux 300 mb /root
hd 12: aux 2 gig /home
hd 13: aux 2 gig /usr
hd14: mac hfs 200 mb

I did this mimicking the method I use on other Linux boxes (intel) I have.
I have run YDL for a couple of months on an old 3400c Powerbook with great
success. (BootX of course)

I have the patched kernel from
http://ppclinux.apple.com/%7Ebenh/vmlinux-2.2.15pre14-ben1.gz and extracted
it with macgzip just fine, then copied the appropriate files from the YDL
install cd to the system folder of my mac boot partition (hd8) Is this
where I have made an error??? I edited the yaboot conf file to reflect this
particular partition as well as the other changes you specified.
Subsequently I reboot my Mac to OF and enter boot hd:8,yaboot... this fails
and returns the following

0> boot hd:8, yaboot MAC-PARTS: LOAD (noninterposed) not
supportedload-size=0 adler32=1

LOAD-SIZE is too small
 ok
0>

Do I need to reformat this thing from the ground up and start over? Not
sure it is an issue, but could be I suppose, I have 384 Mb of RAM in this box.

Regards, Mark

I REALLY want to avoid having to go the Connectix VirtualPC/Redhat way,
although not sure that would work either, although Virtual PC runs quite
well on this with winblows 95.

My goal is to support all my server platforms with one solution. We run
Mac, NT, Linux, Unix and SCO.
