Subject: iMac and yaboot

I may have sent this to a different list so forgive me if this has
previously appeared.
I've sucessfuly installed Yellow Dog onto my iMac (I think). The only
problem is that the manual says to drag yaboot and some other files onto the
"root level of my Macintosh hard drive". I'm pretty familiar with macs and
I've never heard of a root level on my hard drive. What is this? I can't
seem to get Yellow Dog to boot because of this.
So close yet so far away.
