/tmp on swap?

        I was wondering if /tmp (which, as far as I can tell is mounted
        on /, i.e., physical disk) can be mounted on swap just like
        Solaris does it (presumeably by editing /etc/fstab).

        Is this supported under Linux? Is it recommended?
