I've tried to upgrade using Xpmac found at...
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/xpmac/
And following these simple instructions to the letter...

gunzip Xpmac.rev10.gz
chmod u+x Xpmac.rev10
cp Xpmac.rev10 /usr/X11R6/bin/
cd /etc/X11
rm X
ln -s ../../usr/X11R6/bin/Xpmac.rev10 X
startx

It still doesn't work! Grrrrrr!
What I had was a blue screen with a flashing cursor but couldn't type
anything there !
