Do you have yaboot.tbxi (from the CD install folder) on the Mac partition?
Keep that, yaboot.conf and vmlinux (the kernel) on the root folder of the HD
(don't put them in any sub folders).

Also, don't forget to set the boot device:

1. During a reboot hold down command+alt+O+F.
2. At the prompt type:

setenv boot-device hd:8,\yaboot.tbxi
(this is to boot straight into linux)

You should be able to add another image to your yaboot.conf to choose
between linux and macos:

image=hd:8,\tbxi
    label=macos

(I haven't done it - so I assume it would look like the above, but I don't
know - maybe someone else can correct me?)
