You want to relay some info to this lady?

The first thing to try is rebooting the computer and holding the mouse
button down. If she isn't using a regular apple-brand mouse that came with
it, this may not work. Hopefully she still has that original mouse and can
plug it in for the purpose of getting the CD out. Listen for the startup
tone, and then immediately press and hold that mouse button - the CD
should pop out. If this doesn't work, go to plan B.

If it's any iMac that's not a slot-loading one, there is a button on the
front of the CD tray which won't work when the computer is booted and has
a CD in it. However, if she reboots the computer, listens to the startup
tone, and then immediately pushes that button - it should pop out.

If it's a slot-loading iMac, there's a tiny pin-hole sized emergency
eject. Her iMac manual should be consulted on this one, but I believe that
inserting a thin paperclip into the hole while the computer is OFF should
eject the CD.
