Seti@home under UNIXen is usually a text-only application, so you can not use it as a screen saver (sorry :).
I installed it one and found out that there is a startup option which enables graphics mode. You then have to start a second program to interface to the first (sort of client/server mode) to display the graphics similar to the ones on Desktop GUI OSes.
There is nothing special in setting it up - just download the correct version, gunzip it and run with it :).
