This came up about two months ago on the linuxppc-nubus list. On nubus
machines you need to use Xpmac rather than XF86_FBDev. Try following
these steps and see if it helps. Also try checking the March list at
http://lists.linuxppc.org/listarcs/linuxppc-nubus/200103/threads.html
(especially the threads "Mounting CD in YDL" and "installing Linux on
6100").

Install the Mac X server. Also make sure that 75dpi and 100dpi fonts are
installed.
rpm -i /mnt/cdrom/YellowDog/RPMS/XFree86-Xpmac-<version>.ppc.rpm
or
yup install XFree86-Xpmac

Create a symbolic link to /usr/X11R6/bin/Xpmac from
/usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_FBDev and /usr/X11R6/bin/XF68_FBDev (the XF68 is for
Xconfigurator to work) with:
ln -s /usr/X11R6/bin/Xpmac /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_FBDev
ln -s /usr/X11R6/bin/Xpmac /usr/X11R6/bin/XF68_FBDev

Run Xconfigurator. Select your specific monitor from the list (I believe
that the Apple 13" is on the list).

Try startx.

Hope this helps!
Matt
