I did do that. It boots from the CD, both with shift-option-apple-delete
from boot and from BootX on the CD.

Maybe a mohterboard or PRAM reset? Is it not noticing that the CD is no
longer plugged in? It does not show up in Apple System Profiler....

Maybe there is a command line kernel arg I can throw at it? If not, has
anyone installed from partition? Maybe I can throw the installer on a
partition?
