Hi Dan,
with regards to Xautoconfig4, I used that with my 9500/132/G3 and an LG
Studioworks 775N monitor (which works fine under Mac OS and kernels
prior to 2.2.18-xxx) and it still comes up with only 8 bit/1024x768
video... slightly off center to the right as well, except for the
flashing "over" parts during startup of KDE2...
With kernel 2.2.17-xxx, there was something that automatically set the
monitor, rather than having you select specific resolutions or ranges of
sync. It would just automatically set the X86Config file to what looked
like a simple set of instructions for setting monitor/screen.
Is there no similar method under YDL 2?
Failing that, what are the chances of getting an "LG Studioworks 775N"
entry in the monitor database?

Cheers!
