I've got the same problem with my new iBook. I posted about it over the
weekend. I didn't get much for an answer except "try a different kernel".
If I have time, perhaps I'll try that.
I asked pre-sales at Yellowdog, I got the following response:
--------------------
YDL may be incompatible with the latest iBook models.
You may want to try a newer kernel from http://ppclinux.apple.com/~benh/
and see if you have better results.

FWIW, I made a Debian CD, and the CD won't boot, I'm not sure it is
bootable actually. Of course, I don't have a floppy drive, so once again,
if I have time, I'll have to mess around with yaboot.

Subject: problems with new iBook
Just curious ifd there's any known problems with the new iBooks. For some
reason when I boot, it just saying booting... and that's it. I'm trying
to just book from the cd. Anything I should know about? I'm new to Linux
on PPC in general.
Thanks
