Ok, if you need to boot the install program from the CD. Get the new kernel
from yellowdoglinux.com . I odn't remember where it is, but search for it
and put it in your MacOS system directory. And then use yaboot to boot the
CD using a yaboot.conf something like this :

init-message = "\nWelcome to Yellow Dog Linux!\nHit <TAB> for boot
options.\n\n"
timeout = 150
default = install

image = hd:9,\\\\vmlinux
    label = install
    initrd = cd:,\\\\ramdisk.image.gz
    novideo

Now I had the problem of once actually getting to the install program, it
wouldn't find the CD to use as the source for the install. It would just sit
there. And it would fail to mount my HFS partition claiming it didn't exist.
So I had to do a net install. Ever after doing that, when I try to boot into
YDL, I choose the kernel and then it disaplys some info about framebuffer
(there's about 5-6 lines of text).. followed by a "booting....." line.. but
it _never_ gets passed that. So yes, there are problems. I have yet to get
into linux on my 466MHz iBook.
