My mistake - I assumed the trailing period was spurious, not being too familiar
with the syntax for rsync.

While you're in there... there's an instruction a little further down about
changing the line about chipsets, and I quote:

Perhaps it would be helpful to suggest that this can be done with a text editor?
I did it in vi, as I didn't immediately grasp what the @@ and +++ was all about.
Obviously I need to educate myself better, but I'm sure there are plenty of
other beginners out there ;-)
