Subject: gtk help...

I managed to get gtk compiled and installed, but when I try and compile
anything requring gtk the configure script cannot find gtk!! I read some
and figured out that the configure scripts are not finding gtk-config, so
how do I set things up that I can have configure scripts find
gtk-config? I know where the program actually is (/usr/local/bin) but I
dont know how to get programs to find it... thanks again for all the
advice I have gotten from this list.
