What I do on my pismo is once X-server is running (depth 8), I open a
terminal window and type setup.Choose X Configuration and select my monitor,
the resolution and depth.I have had some problems until Know the exactly
monitor I have and the exactly depth I can use, and actually I have 24 depth
and 1024 resolution.
Setup, in my case, detects what type of graphic card you have.
