You need to compile support for Reiserfs into the kernel - there is an
option for this in the filesystems part of the 2.4.x kernel config. I
haven't tried it.

I'd love to know too! As far as I can see from reading the web sites,
there are some performance issues with ext3 and it needs a 2.2.x kernel.
Reiserfs requires a filesystem rebuild. So adopting either of them isn't
at the "trivial" level.
