i installed ydl about 4 months ago on my Cube to learn about Linux and
Command line stuff.

I upgraded my graphics card to a GeFroce II and could no longer run
YDL, i was waiting eagerly for ydl 2.1 for the GeFroce support but i am
dissapointed because i have a flat panel with the ADC connector ydl2.1
does not work with ADC connectore.

So i was waiting in vain.

Well heres good bye to YDL why? you may wonder.

I installed Xfree86 4.1.0 on my Mac on OSX10.1 I installed Window Maker,
side by side with the OSX desktop, i installed Gimp and many other
opensource applications, and i simply log out and log back into Gnome
and i have a true UNIX environment, get this not shutdown and reboot to
switch GUO's log out an in or run the 2 together side by side, who needs
PPC linux anymore?.

More and more software can now be ported very easily to the mac,
Although OSX is very demanding on hardware you can certainly install
Darwin on legacy macs no probs.

And guess what i am installing Darwin with xfree86 and a number of
windowmanagers on an old mac, and sharing files between my OSX box and
my UNIX box is no trouble cos they both use HFS+ file systems or A/UX
systems.

Mozzilla for Darwin is due out in 2 months and guess who will have flash
ported to it first. LinuxPPC has been waiting ages for the flash
plugins.

Any way you lot try out Darwin, it just like Linux really except its
only 1 year old, I agree the kernel aint as solid as Linux but you wait
a couple of years.

Tim
