Can you bring up pages from the iMac if you enter
http://your.ip.add.ress/ ?

If you can do that, but can't connect to it from your other machine, it
sounds like you have a firewall issue, either locally (how are the
computers ahring your internet connection?) or at the ISP (many ISP's
block port 80 access on residential services...)

If you -can't- bring up pages from the iMac when trying that, then you
should verify that the computer is getting the address you think it is.
Look at the output of "ifconfig" to make sure it's getting what you think
it is.
