Hello,

I spent more than an evening trying to install some kernels to support my
peripherals. I started of with the 2.2.19-1k kernel which was installed with YDL
2.0. This one works fine for my iMac 400 DV. I can get my modem connected and I
hear some sounds during KDE startup. I did however not yet try my USB printer,
USB zip drive and firewire CD-burner.

After that I tried the kernel which is delivered by the Extra CD with YDL 2.0.
This is 2.4.4 I believe. This is a mess. The sound is terrible, only a hard
noise.
Then I tried the latest Ben Herrenschmidt 2.4.15pre-something I think. This was a
mess too, because I was unable to have my modem connected. No sound whatsoever in
this kernel. Then I decided to put back the 2.2.19-1k.

Does anybody has an idea what kernel to use if I want to use my internal modem, a
USB printer (HP Deskjet 840c) and a USB-zip drive (possibly a Freecom firewire
CD-burner).
