Hello Paul,

Yes, this was a weird one.

You need to add a login message for OS X to work with certain versions of
netatalk.

In my case, I added the following line to the bottom of /etc/afpd.conf:
- -ipaddr 192.168.1.1 -loginmesg "Welcome to Mariner!"

Note the initial "-" character. You may not need the "ipaddr" parameter; I
have two NIC's, one connected to my internal (private) LAN and one connected
to the internet-at-large, so I need to specify which interface to use for
TCP/IP file sharing.

HTH,
David

Yes while in OS 9.2 I connect via appleshare this works fine. While in
OSX is choose connect to server Appletalk can see YDL server. If I pick
it I can sign in using one of the user names. I than get select volume
you wish to mount. I select the volume hit ok and then get the message
"the file server "servername" connection has unexpectedly closed down.
I have tried connect by just giving ip address and same thing. I don't
believe its a YDL problem since I can connect via OS 9.2 no problem.
