It is possible that the previous install is creating a problem. IIRC, the
YDL installer will both add to an exiting install as well as install new, so
the LPPC install could be confusing the installer. You should back up your
data on a separate machine or removable media, then delete and recreate the
partitions. It is the fastest way. Any other means would either be rather
troublesome or make it possible to lose the data anyway. For instance, you
can delete and add partitions at will, but it is possible to lose data on
all partitions doing this.
