You need to update your version of ProFTPD what you appear to have has many
bugs and security problems.

I think the problem you're experiencing is the 'passive ftp' problem which
is a known issue with older versions of ProFTPD (rc2 was the problem version
which you may have updated to - it says you have 1.2.0pre10 but that just
may be in the config file).

You can either download the newest version and compile:

<ftp://ftp.proftpd.org/distrib/source/proftpd-1.2.4.tar.gz>

Or else you can download my updated src rpms (originally created for
YDL-2.0) and see if they recompile on YDL-1.2 - I don't have an old YDL-1.x
box available anymore to try it myself.

<ftp://ftp.froese.org/rpms/ydl-2.0/proftpd/1.2.4/proftpd-1.2.4-1.src.rpm>

You could also try this SRPM:

<ftp://ftp.yellowdoglinux.com/pub/yellowdog/yellowdog-2.1/SRPMS/YellowDog/SR
PMS/proftpd-1.2.2-1a.src.rpm>

To recompile a SRPM you need to do this:

rpm --rebuild filename-src.rpm

Then you need to update your current RPMS with the rebuilt ones.

Good luck.
