Usually you have to use passive ftp, as in
-P --passive-ftp Use passive FTP transfers
Of course I haven't tried it, but I assume it's implemented. ;) That's
with yup-0.6.5-1 (if your version doesn't work try upgrading it by hand
[to get it to upgrade your box]).
