AFAIK, the 3Coms are compatible with MAC-Linux... Ask the list to be sure.

I run a hosting company (http://www.globaltap.com) and I use 3coms.

They have been good for up to 25Mbps sustained for 2 hours straight (max so
far). This was through a traffic shaping firewall (2x 3c90x), 2 layers of
10/100 SNMP switches (3c16985) to a destination box with a 3c90x in it and
back out again. I was really impressed.

Subject: Network issues

My YDL 2.0 server is disappearing from the net after running for a few days.
Someone mentioned it could be an issue with on-board Ethernet. I am running
on an 8500 ("PowerSurge" m/b) with dual-604e CPUs. It has the 2.4.8 smp
kernel. Can I get a recommendation on a replacement PCI card for 10/100
ethernet? I don't want to run out and slap any generic $20 NIC in there if
it won't get recognized by Linux.
