What I did when I needed to do this was I hooked my powerbook up to the
projector under mac mode and turned on mirroring. Then, I just switched
over to linux and reset the projector. It worked just fine. Of course this
was a G3 powerbook so your mileage may vary. There is also a piece of
software that I just found the other day m3mirror(?) I think it was
called. (I'm afraid I don't have my references with me here at work...) It
can be found on benh's page at penguinppc. Someone might want to jump in
with the link, but it is something along the lines of
http://www.master.penguinppc.org/~benh ... That should at least be enough
to feed a search engine anyways...

Of course, like I said, I'd just try it with the projector first...
