recognising multiple processors

I have a dual processor Powermac 9500, and don't belive that linux is
registering the second processor.
I was wondering how I can tell wether or not the second processor is
being used, and if not, how to get it to work.
At the moment, I don't have xwindows working either, so, if at all
possible, please keep to stuff I can do from inside the terminal.
