It's unlikely that you will get a definitive answer to this question
because:

- not every vendor's USB and ATA cards are necessarily supported
- the kernel that ships as standard with YDL may not have the required
support compiled in.

However, a number of people on this list have succeeded in getting cards of
the type you mention to work on YDL. I have a 9600 that includes a G3
upgrade an USB card and an ATA card and runs happily with a 2.4.10 kernel.
