Don't remember exactly but I think I have usb devfs, usb storage and
scsi emulation in the kernel. This is with 2.4.x on Slackware and never
tried it on YDL but if you have those options in 2.2.18 you should have
no problem.
I simply mount the camera as /dev/scd1 and get my images.
