Yes, I must agree with Bryn...all opinions about DSL vs. Cable are going to
depend on where you are. Here in Portland, Oregon, DSL is nothing like how
Dave describes it. It is ADSL; you have a choice (depending on provider) of
whether or not to use PPPoE, and the minumum downstream speed about half a
T-1 (640k), which should be fast enough for most of us. Most setup plans
leave you with a Cisco 678, which is a capable modem/bridge/router/firewall.

Meanwhile, I hear nothing but problems from the cable modem users I talk to.
