It seems that some people are getting confused by the Linux hype and
popularity and, as a result, are thinking that it's some hot new
operating system that improves upon Windows, Mac OS in the way BeOS
does. What they don't seem to realize is that it is a UNIX-like system
whose interface to the user is primarily archane text files and commands
with little wierd names, and whose graphical user interface is secondary
and often requires use of some of those archane text files even to
define its own behavior.

So they seem to expect to install (easily), boot, and see a fancy GUI
that says, "Deep inside of me is the hottest technology you've been
hearing about--and you can easily access it all from here." For this
they need OS X, Be OS, or Win NT/2000, or something else.
