YDL 2.1

I thought I could make this OS work but I guess that it's way over my head I
have been trying for three days now to load YDL 2.1 on a spare MAc 8500/604e
200, on a partitioned 4.5 gb HD. Using 8.6 OS on the Mac Side.
I have reformatted the HD 3 times, loaded mac OS 3 times, I get through all
the dialog, formatting, assigning mount points and then I get random freezes
that are driving me up the wall, I almost got all the way through thisa
evening the progress bar came within 3/8 of an inch from completing the load
when it locks up forcing a reboot and guess what we start all over again.
This went on for about 6 hrs Sunday and tonight same crapola. This machine
has been very stable with OS 8.6 and 9.1...... I have other macs but I need
them to do real work. I wanted to see what linux was about I guess it aint
gonna happen with me.

I know the software was cheap, the install booklet that accompanied the
disc's needs to be written for someone who might not know what is what with
linux. This is definate geek territory. There is no reference to the most
basic syntax such as the mount points, mine were not automatically assigned
that was the first 1/2 day of frustration till one of my PC Linux friends
called me and clued me in on the syntax.

How about $20
