Elaine, most of the Linux binary files out there are for x86 machines
running Linux. That is to say, the binaries contain Intel processor
machine language. To get LInux binaries that run on a Mac you
have to either --

(a) download "Linux PPC" binaries, or
(b) get the sources (if available) and build them yourself (or
have someone with programming experience do it for you).

It happens that both cases you have mentioned are NOT ones
for which there are Linux PPC binaries or freely available
sources. If you look on your Tasty Morsels CD you will find
"Linux PPC" binaries for OpenOffice, an "open source" variant
of StarOffice.

As far as I know there's no Netscape for Linux after version 4.7.
You'll have to use Mozilla or Konqueror (which are included with
Yellow Dog Linux) or Opera, which can be found at
http://www.opera.com. If you try Opera, again, be sure that you
download the Linux PPC binary of Opera. Go to

http://www.opera.com/download/?platform=linux

and click the "Change..." button, then pick the "Linux (PowerPC)"
download.

Best,
Patty A. Hardy
