RPM src build problems MOL and lpstyl

I posted an earlier problem with building lpstyl RPM. I am
running the YDL2 kernel-2.4.4 from Tasty morsels. I recently
tried to run and configure MOL. However, it complained about
unresolved module symbols and kernel incompatibilities.

I figured I'd download the latest MOL src RPM and recompile it
against my system. However I got almost the same errors when
building MOL that happened with lpstyl. This seemed to
successfully unzip, untar and build the objects and binaries. I
used the "rpm --recompile NAME-VERSION.src.rpm" (also tried
rebuild).

It returned errors with
Finding Requires: (using /usr/lib/rpm/find-requires)...
objdump: /var/tmp/lpstyl-0.9.9/usr/sbin/direct_stylpbm: File
format not recognized
....
objdump: /var/tmp/lpstyl-0.9.9/usr/sbin/stylps.a4: File format
not recognized
PreReq: rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1
Requires(rpmlib): rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1
Requires: ld.so.1 libc.so.6 /bin/sh libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0)
Wrote: /usr/src/rpm/RPMS/ppc/lpstyl-0.9.9-1.ppc.rpm

Am I doing something wrong? Whats the best way to proceed? Is
this the price for cutting edge kernel use? Thanks for anyones
help.

Steve
