CS 1.2 crashes regularly

I can regularly (within 30 minutes of booting) crash my CS 1.2 just
by doing normal stuff (like starting X, compiling stuff, etc).
The exact text of the error message is:

Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address c8809000 (error 42000000)

I just crashed it again and the virtual address and error are the same.

This system is a Macintosh 7500/100 with 80MB real memory, 128MB
of swap space, which it does start using at boot. The command top
confirms that the swap space is available.

These crashes obviously reduce the usefulness of running Linux on
this system (which has had no overt problems running MacOS). Any
ideas about what to do?

Kenneth
