Hi to all,
My contribution to this discussion:
But I did manage to bootX,
tried a few installs (both graphical and text) but now
I get -
ext2fs_check...
:no such file or directory while determining whether
/dev/sda9 is mounted
I node 18109 has illegal block(s)
/dev/sda9 unexpected inconsistency
run fsck manually FAILED

What I'm talking about is installing YD 2.0 on an Old
World G3 beige 233 MHz with 768MB Ram. When I tried to
install the original 8.0 OS (using the boot CD), the
dialogue box popped up "data loss, use disk repair
util. to check disk, etc.", and TechTool Pro froze
while attempting to check the disk. Now I will try
Norton (Apple's disk repair says nothings wrong), etc.
I will also re-try my OS 9.1 CD (at least I get a
choice of formats e.g. HFS, unallocated, etc.).

To repeat my request of this morning (sorry if I'm
being a pain) - anyone with an Old World Mac please
indicate how you installed YD 2.0.

George
