Hello all,

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I am still suffering here. Any word
on video drivers for the NVidia on the G4 yet? I have read several places that
the ATI Rage 128 cards work well, but I just got off the phone with ATI and
they have completely discontinued the entire Rage line for Macs. Not only
that, but nobody has any left in stock so I can't buy them at all anywhere.

I see the ATI Radeon all over the place, but according to the information I
have been able to find, they suffer from a similar problem as the NVidia.
I think that this information could be MUCH clearer at least on the YDL web
site. I find that it is somewhat misleading that the following information is
listed on the YDL web site under "Supported Computers":

Power Macintosh G4 AGP 466/533/533MP/667/733
                         Ultra ATA-66 supported
                         FireWire not supported
                         Ultra160 SCSI not tested
                         Gigabit Ethernet not supported
                         Radeon not supported
                         Nvidia not supported
                         AirPort supported
                         USB Input Devices supported
                         Modem supported

Power Macintosh G4 AGP 400/450/500
                         Ultra ATA-66 supported
                         ATTO SCSI card not supported
                         Gigabit Ethernet not supported
                         FireWire not supported
                         Radeon not supported
                         AirPort supported
                         USB Input Devices supported
                         Modem supported

Power Macintosh G4 Cube
                         Ultra ATA-66 supported
                         FireWire not supported
                         Gigabit Ethernet not supported
                         Radeon not supported
                         AirPort supported
                         USB Input Devices supported
                         USB Audio not supported
                         Modem supported

Power Macintosh G4 PCI 350/400
                         Ultra ATA-33 supported
                         Ultra 2 SCSI supported
                         FireWire not supported
                         USB Input Devices supported
                         Modem supported

Sure, some PARTS of the G4 are supported so depending on your needs,
TECHNICALLY the G4 is supported, however if you intend to actually sit in front
of the thing and use it as a workstation, you are pretty much out of luck.
That is, of course, unless you don't mind looking at X in 8 colors...

To me, the G4 should be listed as Unsupported, given that it is not really a
usable configuration as a workstation.
