Thanks for the reply.

The xvidtune is a strange applicaiton but I think I can fix issue 1 with that.

For some reason, 1600x1200 is the only resolution that works. I have tried
chaning resolutions using the Ctrl + Alt + Keypad + sign but the only one
that is useable is 16x12.
