Here's a vote in favour of tagging the subject lines, if it's sensibly
implemented.
I'm one of the newbies you talked about (haven't even ordered/downloaded YDL
yet, never mind installed it) but it occurs to me that one of you clever crowd
ought to be able to write a little filter that automatically removes all
extraneous occurrences of [yellowdog-general] after the first, and any text
between them.
To alleviate the problem, you could prefix messages with [ydlg] instead of
[yellowdog-general] -- for those in the know, it's just as recognisable, and
will allow you 2-3 times as many iterations before the subject line becomes
nonsense again.
