David,

I'm little more coherent today. Anyway, the way I installed my
PBG3 system was to put the 2.2.6 kernel in my system folder (and
named it vmlinux) during the install. After the install, I
replaced the 2.2.6 kernel with the 2.2.10 kernel by placing it
in the system folder and naming it vmlinux. After that, future
boots of linux will use 2.2.10 kernel. Hope this helps a little
more.

To make certain that you get the same one that I used, you can
get them from SGI's ftp server at the following location.
Stuffit Expander should do the initial unzipping. After that you
can un-tar the lppc-kernels.tar file to get both the 2.2.6 and
2.2.10 kernels.

ftp://ftp.sgi.com/pub/lppc-kernels.tar.gz

I can't guarantee how long the file will stay on the ftp server.
You may want to grab it at your earliest convenience.

Hope this helps more.

Chad
