Hi,

I'm having trouble with nedit crashing with

Program terminated with signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

I want to get this running solidly as its based on the old
NEXTSTEP "Edit" editor with extremely similar operation - basically
little for me to learn (plenty in other areas already!).

I've used YDL Champion Server 1.1 with its as-supplied nedit with the
above problem, and also compiled anew from the current 5.02 sources.
Both give identical results.

I'm running on linux 2.2.14p6 (compiled from Paul's sources) and
glibc 2.1.3
Additionally, I've done the following X-related RPMs:

XFree86-100dpi-fonts-3.3.5-1.6.0c.ppc.rpm
XFree86-xfs-3.3.5-1.6.0d.ppc.rpm
XFree86-3.3.5-1.6.0c.ppc.rpm
Xconfigurator-4.2.4-1a.ppc.rpm
XFree86-75dpi-fonts-3.3.5-1.6.0c.ppc.rpm
mouseconfig-4.0-1a.ppc.rpm
XFree86-FBDev-3.3.5-1.6.0c.ppc.rpm
pam-0.68-2.ppc.rpm

Here's an example of a crash - it occurred after doing so editing and
then doing a
cmd-shift-r to edit the file indicated drag-selected filename:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

#8 0xfaa33dc in Letext () at ../sysdeps/powerpc/elf/libc-start.c:106

Anybody else using nedit successfully or having these problems too? Any
tricks to fix this known?

Thanks,

Dick Benster
