Thanks to those that replied to G4 install nightmare.
I got the install to complete except for things

1. It did not find the built in ethernet so I have no network yet

2. More inportantly I cant even boot linux now when it starts to load and
mount root it gives a "kernel panic : no init found try passing init= to
the kernel"

anyone know what causes this?
