I was able to find/do most things needed to install a new pre-compiled
kernel, except find the keyboard map (I think that's what it's called).
Where can I find it online?

I found these on the LinuxPPC.org site, but I don't see the keyboard map.
What is the dot.config file for?

dot.config-2.2.10-rev2.gz
modules-2.2.10.tar.gz
System.map-2.2.10.gz
vmlinux-2.2.10-rev2.gz
