Another simple thing to check would be this:
Was it for PowerPC Linux or x86/Alpha/ARM Linux? That particular software is
not open source so you only get the 'binaries' and they're compiled for your
particular processor.
There is a PowerPC version available but it hasn't been updated in a while
and was pretty buggy before when I tried it. I didn't have much luck either.
