Mmmm... there's no other possibility that becoming a developer?

Anyone out there that knows about RISC + Microchannel + Linux??

It depends on the model. If it is an PCI based PowerPC system you have a good chance. If the machines are really old and based on Microchannel POWER architecture then you will have to become a developer to get Linux running.

I am no expert, but the boxes listed in your mail seem to me of the second kind...
