Subject: Backspace in Netscape / gdm error

Folks,
I've asked about this once, without response, but it's so deeply irritating
that I'll ask again.
How do I get backspace to work in Netscape on my Rev. A iMac? I changed the
keymap so that it works in everything else, but I just can't get it to work
in NS. As a developer of web-based applications, I spend a lot of time in
Netscape. Not having backspace is a major liability, and I could use any
advice that anybody could offer.
Secondly, I've been getting a lot of errors from xwindows. When I quit, my
screen is full of "gdm already running. Aborted!" errors. I'm not sure what
to make of this -- is my system trying to re-run Gnome when it's already
running? It doesn't seem to hurt anything, but it sure can't be good.
Thanks for your help, folks.
Best,
Waldo
