erm, in your licq directory (the dir you compiled licq in) you must cd into plugins
and compile the plugin for licq to work then:
licq -p /path/of/plugin #mines /usr/local/lib/licq/name-of-plugin

if you did that already it sounds as tho you have qt1.44 and qt2.02 on your system,
ive heard that causes some problems.
